Hun Sen vows to Protect and Conserve the Environment

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – The Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen has vowed to protect and conserve the environment. The vow was made at the second annual National Forum on the Protection and Conservation of Natural Resources at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. The event, which was launched in 2016 has given activitists, NGOs and members of civil society the opportunity to raise their concerns directly with the Prime Minister, who has been lambasted for presiding over years of widespread illegal logging, land grabs and environmental degradation. San Francisco Public Utilities Commission awards $939 million wastewater treatment plant upgrade contract

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission has awarded a $939 million contract for the refurbishment of biosolid digester facilities at the city’s Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant. MWH Constructors, a leading international construction company operating in the water and wastewater industry, and joint venture partner Webcor Builders have been awarded the contract. The Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant was built in 1952 and is San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s largest wastewater treatment facility, treating around 80 percent of San Francisco’s wastewater.
