Best Buy under fire for allegedly inflating the price of bottled water in the wake of Hurricane Harvey

Texas — U.S. retail gaint Best Buy has been berated on social media for alleged price gouging. Texas attorney general Ken Paxton says he has received hundreds of reports about similar incidents in the wake of Hurricane Harvey which has devastated much of southeastern Texas with deadly floodwater. The attorney general warned that offenders who engage in the unethical practice could face fines of up to $20,000 per offense, and up to $250,000 if the victim is 65 or older.
